On Monday 4th and Tuesday 5th October, the North West’s best hairstylists joined forces with Boohoo and Burnley FC in the Community for the ‘Trim on the Turf’.
This inspiring two-day fundraiser featured thirty local hairstylists as they cut and styled hair in the hospitality area of the Jimmy Mccllroy stand. There was also a pop-up shop from Blackburn-based Nineyards Uk and Burnley-based fashion giant Boohoo – who also sponsored the event. The event raised close to £5000 and all of the money went towards Burnley FC in the Community.
burnley.social headed to Turf Moor on the Monday where we were greeted by four team members from the well-known Burnley barber shop, Jazzman Grooves.
Owner of Jazzman Grooves, Baron Laird, said:
“It was great to see everyone come down today and there was plenty of famous local barbers, such as Sam Shaw and John Peers, in attendance.
“It also felt good to get together as a team to support a local charity. We (Jazzman Grooves) have never really done anything like this before but it’s definitely inspired us to push on as a team and do more in the community. We saw great value in getting out and networking with other barbers.”
Ben Bottomley, partner at Burnley FC in the Community said:
“Thank you to all that came down to Turf Moor for our Trim on the Turf event this week.
We want to extend our gratitude to our friends and main sponsors BooHoo, who, in addition to sponsorship, provided all the clothing for our pop-up shop, proceeds of which came directly to support BFCitC.
Thank you to Kilian Maddison, Simon Shawn and Scissorhands UK for delivering top class seminars over the two days, NCACR Hair & Beauty had a real treat, and we’re sure it was a completely inspiring event for their future careers in the hair and barbering industry.
We want to thank Sam & Adam from Nine Yards UK, who kindly donated all sale proceeds of their fantastic hair products.
And finally, Thank you to our head honcho John Peers and his team of super talented hairdressers who gave up their time free of charge. We will be back next year!”
It’s fantastic to see local businesses coming together to raise money for Burnley Fc in the Community, especially when it’s in such an iconic, much-loved location.
