Burnley College Sixth Form Centre students got an eye-opening look into games design after travelling all the way to Los Angeles, California.

Advanced Vocational Games Design students (what a subject – right?) and a few gamers from the college went to the greatest gaming expo in the world, E3 (the Electronic Entertainment Expo). This is where the main gaming companies showcase some of the freshest releases in the industry.

Cyberpunk 2077, Doom Eternal, Borderlands 3, Marvel Avengers and Jedi: Fallen Order were just some of the exclusive releases they got to learn about. The students also got to meet a variety of developers, experienced the latest Virtual Reality and took part in an exciting Q&A panel.

Touring the city of angels was also on the itinerary, including the Griffith Observatory and the Walk of Fame.

The principal of Burnley College Sixth Form, Karen Buchanan, said that the trip to E3 was, “an opportunity for students to experience a different culture and broaden their horizons,” and stated that one student has now set a personal goal to be a part of this unique, growing industry.
